The health department of the city of Cologne is one of the largest and most renowned in the Federal Republic. The employees work in multi-professional teams and carry out the municipal tasks of the public health service for the citizens of the city of Cologne.

In the drug consumption room, users of illegal drugs receive an offer of health, survival and exit assistance on Neumarkt. The three pillars of the drug help offer are drug consumption room, social work advice and medical help.

The drug consumption area in the health department consists of two consumption rooms: a room with six places for inhalative consumption and a room with six places for intravenous consumption. The facility also has a contact shop with up to 15 seats, a room for medical care and advice and referral of clients to the (addiction) help system, as well as options for exchanging syringes, opportunities to do laundry, drink and eat, and a toilet.

The offer is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.! For this offer, we are looking for full-time and part-time health and nursing staff (m/f/d) until December 31, 2027.

* provide emergency intervention in the event of overdoses,

The prerequisite is that you have completed training as a health and nursing assistant or nursing specialist with state recognition or an examination, along with completed specialist training listed by the German Hospital Association.

Alternatively, people with state-recognized, completed training as emergency paramedics or completed training as health and nursing assistants who are in ongoing specialist training or are willing to catch up on specialist training can apply.

Participation in first aid training is also required before starting work. Drug emergency training after starting work is also mandatory.

The positions are assessed according to salary group P 9 case group 1 of the collective agreement for the public service (professions in the health care sector). If specialist training has not yet been completed, remuneration is based on pay group P 8 case group 1 of the collective agreement for the public service (professions in the healthcare sector). For emergency paramedics, the position is rated according to pay group N of the collective agreement for the public service (VKA).

In addition, there is the possibility of granting a temporary skilled worker allowance as part of a case-by-case assessment. The weekly working time is 39 hours. Employment is possible part-time and full-time. The positions are limited until December 31, 2027.

Since the drug consumption room is run in shifts, the weekly operating times must be determined individually.
