In your role as an IT cybersecurity expert, you work in the Security Operations Center (SOC) of the Munich Fire Department. This team is responsible for the operational protection of the critical IT infrastructure and is therefore of central importance for hazard prevention and disaster control in the state capital of Munich. In the SOC, you are responsible for both the analysis of security events and the further development of the security infrastructure in the fire service and disaster control network.

Your job is to use the SIEM to evaluate the reported incidents, determine the severity and assess the impact on the entire network. You will be actively involved in incident response, taking containment steps and advising the affected data center teams. With your experience and knowledge, you will contribute to the conception, configuration and optimization of IT security systems. This includes, for example, adapting firewall rules to new requirements, introducing additional security mechanisms (e.g. multi-factor authentication, zero trust approaches) or integrating new monitoring and analysis tools into the SOC environment.

This is what you bring with you

* a career qualification for the third qualification level of the natural sciences and technology career with a focus on administrative informatics or

* a career qualification for the third qualification level of the specialist career in administration and finance with many years (at least three years) of professional experience in the IT sector or

* a successfully completed university degree in computer science, administrative informatics, business informatics or a comparable field or

* the successfully completed municipal qualification program IT-Q or

* a successfully completed university degree with many years (at least three years) of professional experience in the IT sector\* or

* a successfully passed specialist examination II with many years (at least 3 years) of professional experience in the IT sector\* or

equivalent skills and experience related to a completed university degree in computer science, administrative informatics or business informatics\* with long-term (at least three years) practical experience in the IT sector

We value this

* Expertise: practical experience with firewalls (e.g. Fortinet), practical experience with SIEM solutions (e.g. Elastic Search, Splunk)

* Result and goal orientation, especially analytical thinking skills

* Ability to cooperate and deal with conflict

* The following are advantageous: certifications in the areas of network, security infrastructure and security operations (e.g. CCNA, NSE, CEH), implemented projects in the area of cybersecurity (also in home lab environments or online platforms, such as TryHackMe, HackTheBox, RootMe), practical knowledge of distributed IT systems as well as large IT infrastructures and knowledge of the structure of a municipal fire department
