Brekken nursery and local center is looking for a safe, clear and committed educational leader who wants to contribute to a good, inclusive and developing nursery environment for the children in Brekken nursery.

About the position 

As an educational manager, you are responsible for the department being run in accordance with current laws, regulations, framework plan for the kindergarten and the municipality's own planning documents.

You have primary responsibility for the pedagogical work in the department, for good cooperation with parents and for contributing to a safe and good working environment for your employees. You also share responsibility for the nursery's overall operation and for systematic work on quality, development and a good educational environment.

The position involves, among other things:
- leading, planning, carrying out, documenting and evaluating the educational work.
- being a supervisor for employees in the department.
- contributing to good organization of everyday life, proper staffing and a clear distribution of work.
- guiding employees and contributing to professional reflection and development.
- facilitate a safe, inclusive and developing play and learning environment.
- work closely with parents, colleagues and relevant partners.
- actively contribute to the kindergarten's development work and in the collaboration across kindergarten, after-school care and school.

About us at Brekken upvekstsenter

Brekken upvekstsenter has a kindergarten, after-school care and school. The nursery has large and good areas, both outside and inside, and has a mixed group of children aged 0–6. There are currently around 20 children in the nursery.

Brekken nursery has a separate section for Sami children. Røros municipality is the administrative municipality for the Southern Sami language, and applicants with Southern Sami language skills and/or good knowledge of Southern Sami culture are encouraged to apply.

The youth center is an important cultural hub in the local community, and provides good opportunities for collaboration across units and professional environments.

Your qualifications and personal characteristics 

We are looking for you who have: 

• education as a kindergarten teacher/preschool teacher.
• or other three-year pedagogical education at university level with further education in kindergarten pedagogy.

• has the ability to work systematically, take responsibility and stand up to demanding assessments when needed.

In addition to the qualifications for the position and personal qualities, we will also emphasize whether you have:

• leadership experience and/or clear leadership skills.
• experience from kindergarten.
• good professional knowledge and interest in educational development work.
• ability to reflect on own practice in interaction with others.
• good collaboration skills and ability to create trust in children, parents and colleagues.
• knowledge of, competence in or experience with Southern Sami language and culture.
• basic digital skills. 

Employment takes place after an overall assessment of education, experience, leadership skills, personal suitability and other qualifications for the position.

Before employment, a police certificate of recent date must be presented (maximum three months old), cf. section 30 of the Kindergarten Act.
